MMR & OPV Catch Up for Filipino Children

In response to the WHO’s push for catch up vaccination, DOH have implemented vaccination catch up activities. On 9th May 2023, DOH reported vaccination of 2.3 million children against MMR and OPV (oral bivalent polio) in the first week of it’s vaccination catch-up activity. In the Philippines MMR is given from 9 months of age up to 5, and OPV from birth to 5.

We should watch for any spike in pediatric deaths starting in May 2023 when PSA eventually releases population, for any spike in the notifiable illnesses of polio and measles data!

DOH Unconcerned with Rising C19 Cases

DOH are not concerned about rising cases of Covid-19, given that most cases are asymptomatic / mild. DOH do not agree with the push of some health influencers to reinstate mandatory masking. I have to agree with their sentiments!

Will the Philippines State of Emergency be Finally Lifted?

Vergeire reminded that the Covid-19 policies enforced by the government remain in force until President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. gives his approval on the IATF recommendations, which is expected by Monday or Tuesday next week, giving hope that the State of Health Emergency may be lifted.

In case the State of emergency is lifted, DOH may be relieved that it can be readily reintroduced with even a suspected threat of a health emergency in case that the Senate Bill SB1869 is passed. However, in the meantime, without a state of health calamity (expired Dec 2022), EUA covid-19 vaccine products cannot be purchased.

Get CPR for Covid-19 Vaccines Orders Vergeire

DOH OIC Vergeire is a huge promoter and supporter of C19 vaccines. Not wanting any single Filipino to remain unvaccinated, and not able to import vaccinations given under current conditions, she is encouraging vaccine manufacturers to apply for Certificates of Product Registration. This will allow C19 Vaccines to be commercially imported, and offered to all citizens. We would assume that such an application process would include a thorough investigation of all available safety and efficacy data! Or would it?

Vergeire emphasized that just because the WHO has declared the state of health emergency to be over, does not mean that the Philippines should follow suite! Does not mean that the Philippines will stop efforts to vaccinate all Filipinos with C19 vaccines [before they expire yet again].

The latest data, is terrifying! Terrifying in that it is still being used to try to scare people! Still being used to push covid-19 vaccines; no longer very successfully.

SB1869 To be Passed by Congress this Week?

In an interview with ANC reporter Karen Davila, Senator Escudero indicated that SB1869, setting up a Philippines CDC and effectively bringing the Philippines into line under the WHO IHRs would be passed this week.

The linked long interview (40 minutes) below includes statement about the CDC Bill being passed this week at 0:21 seconds. The entire interview (mostly in English) is very interesting. Other relevant items discussed include the DOH to date not having revealed how much money was spent on Covid-19 vaccines (1:40) to the commission on audit, President focusing on off-short meetings, expiring vaccines and why such an oversupply of vaccines were imported, appointment of secretary for DOH, vaccine injuries, NDAs with vaccine suppliers, and corruption during the pandemic, among other topics.

If SB1869 is passed this week, it indicates that all of the lobbying, informing, and protesting by citizens to the Senate have fallen on both deaf and insensitive ears, which are out of touch with the on-the-ground serious concerns.
