ABS Provisional Mortality Data Shows Continued Excess Deaths Above Baseline for January 2023, with Biggest Burden of Deaths in Senior Citizens.

Australia is still not doing well! Excess deaths are continuing into 2023.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released the January 2023 provisional mortality statistics. Deaths are lower than those in January 2022, but still well above baseline. Note that baseline has excluded 2020 deaths which were “lower than typical” and 2022 deaths which were “higher than typical”.

Using provided data, total monthly mortality is plotted from Jan 2015 through to Jan 2023. The inflection point for increased deaths started in 2nd quarter of 2021.

Monthly Age Standardized Deaths (deaths/1000 population) for 2018 to 2022 are plotted. Rates were higher than prior years throughout 2022, except for October.

Plotting deaths by age and gender, it becomes apparent that the burden of deaths concentrates mostly among older groups [note: this data is extracted from the weekly data so does not exactly match the whole month figures in the ABS discussion]. Younger men have deaths below baseline for the 4 weeks covered in the January Report. Men 65 and older have deaths above baseline.

Young women aged 0-44 had deaths above baseline as did women aged 65 and older. The deaths above baseline in young women, is highly concerning. Even more so given that a similar pattern is not seen among young men.

Class Action Filed on Behalf of Vaccine Injured Australians

Covid-19 Vaccine injured in Australia have filed a case against the Australian government and health officials.
