New PSA Release on 26 October 2022 for Vital Statistics and Cause of Death up to 31 July 2022! Registered Deaths Appear to Be Stabilizing, but Where Are the Babies?
Data is clearly still incomplete. Birth rates since March have plummeted! Cause of death data shows Neoplasms with a 15% increased share of deaths. Perinatal and Obstetric Causes up by 23% and 20%.
Latest data drop from PSA yesterday! Vital statistics for January to July 2022, as of 31st August 2022 and Cause of Death Data as of the same dates.
VITAL STATISTICS
Plotting the data for easy review. Here is the death data! Wonderful how nicely the 2022 death data matches the March to May 2019 death rates! Clearly deaths are totally normal now this year! Nothing to see here. July and July data is still incomplete and is not yet cause for concern.
Birth data here! Still no recovery of birth rates even to 2021 levels after March 2022. April birth rates are down by 8.2% compared to 2021, and May births are down by 21.2%; June and July data is still too incomplete to be of concern yet!
CAUSE OF DEATH REPORT
Please note that the cause of death data (raw numbers) for 2022 cannot be directly compared to 2021 data due to incomplete data for the periods being compared.
The relative cause of death ranking is relevant (% share of registered death for each identified cause) remains the same with Ischemic Heart Diseases, Cerebrovascular diseases, and Neoplasms taking the first 3 slots. Relative contribution of neoplasms has increased by 15% in 2022 compared to 2021.
Other causes of death that have increased their relative contribution to registered deaths include transport accidents (+29%), liver diseases (+21%), all external causes (+33%), endocrine and digestive diseases with +20% and +17% increases.
On the maternal and neonatal health side, deaths related to perinatal conditions are up 23%, and direct obstetric deaths are up 20%. Infectious causes of death are also proportionally increased; tetanus by 48%, blood disorders 40%, tuberculosis 35%, and viral hepatitis 30%.
Clearly there are some ongoing health issues that need addressing in the Philippines, that are not Covid-19 infection: Covid-19 attributed deaths, virus identified have dropped by 57% and virus not identified by 65% compared to the previous year share of deaths.
The registered death data presented appears too good to be true, when taken in an international context of worldwide escalating deaths in heavily jabbed populations!
The birth data is truly worrying! All bears close watching, and pleas to the authority to release all data on hand so that public health decisions can be made with complete information!
