Philippines IATF Insists that Minimum Public Health Standards should be Maintained to Prevent Covid-19 Infections: Vaccinate, Booster, and Mask Wear!
New study adds to the evidence that public health got the mask part very wrong! Internationally vaccines and boosters are observed to be driving cases. Could these MPHS be hurting instead of helping?
The diatribe by IATF / DILG against Cebu’s Governor Garcia’s executive order permitting non-wearing of masks in outdoors and well-ventilated areas continues. Cebu Vice Governor Davide, supports Garcia, as discussed in this Sunstar Article.
Garcia also pushed back further yesterday telling DILG to focus on real problems instead like crime, illegal drugs, and economic recovery. She is not going to back down!
My hat off to Governor Garcia! We are well past the time when the imposed “Minimum Public Health Standards” (MPHS) which now seem to have been mostly reduced to vaccinate, boost, and mask should be critically questioned and reconsidered.
The vaccinate and booster is not going very well internationally with cases and deaths apparently being driven by vaccination. Countries with the highest vaccination and booster rates, unequivocally also have the highest cases and deaths, independent of the sophistication or otherwise of their health care systems (data source). Australia (224 doses/ 100 persons), UK (218/100), and New Zealand (216/100), and are doing very much worse in terms of cases and deaths than South Africa (61 doses /100) and Africa (38 doses/100). This cannot be coincidence.
The Philippines has not yet had another C-19 Omicron spike; perhaps protected somewhat by our relatively low booster uptake. Despite about 70 million out of 112 million Filipinos being “fully vaccinated”, booster uptake is quite low at 14.5 million (approx. 13%).
Vaccine safety in the Philippines not looking good, though the Pharmacovigilance team has not yet seen any need to revise vaccination recommendations! As of 12th June 2022 Philippines DOH-FDA have received 102,512 reports of adverse events (increase of 528 over the previous week), of which 8,441 are serious (increase of 29) with 2,451 deaths (increase of 27). There is massive under-reporting of AEFI in the Philippines. Of all the serious AEFI cases I have heard of (too many to count) and recent sudden unexpected deaths, I only know of 1 case (a death shortly following injection) which was reported (I assisted the family to report).
While masking was optimistically adopted worldwide as a possible means to stop covid-19 transmission, the scientific evidence supporting its use was sparse; early in 2020 some health experts tried to counsel that the pore sizes of masks could not prevent viral transmission and would give false sense of security to their wearers.
Occupational Health and Safety people tried to raise the alarms about inappropriate mask use, oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, and safety, and were also ignored.
However, now, nearly 2 1/2 years later there is abundant evidence that masking not only doesn’t help prevent covid-19, but that it has many adverse health, psychological, sociological, and developmental consequences.
This new study adds another nail to the masks prevent covid-19 coffin! In short masks filter, collect, and concentrate viral and bacterial, and other particulate debris. Eventually some of these dislodge and are inhaled deep into the lungs. For Covid-19 this causes worse infection and disease, and more deaths (85% higher) than would have occurred if masks were not used.
Microplastics and fibers from masks are another issue. This study identifies that microplastics from masks are a concern. This article discusses microplastics, their occurrence and their health implications at great length.
Figure 3, from the article, as captured below sets out some of the concerns with microplastics for human health. Clearly there are consequences to mask wearing (also a source of microplastics and micro-fibers) which extend well beyond their increasing of infection capacity. These include permanent lung damage and cancers.
The vaccines are not preventing serious C-19 illness and death (they never did prevent infection or transmission). They are not looking safe, and it is getting worse as more evidence accumulates!
The evidence on masks shows far more human harm than (any) help!!
Surely it is already time for our esteemed health experts to step back from their MPHM which are not supported by the mounting evidence to say “we did our best with the available information at the time, but now we know better.”
We need to stop the vaccines and the masking. We need to strengthen health with nutrition, sunlight, exercise, air, and community! We need to begin reconnecting, healing, and to focus on real problems!
Just like in the US, it sounds like the Philippines is increasing divorced from reality. In spite of some voices of reason, who get drowned out by the narrative. Still, we must plug on. Thanks.
