“Sustainable Vaccination - It Ends When you do!” - Japan's Excess Deaths Have Escalated in Parallel with the Doubling of Booster Doses Delivered Mostly to their Senior Citizen Population.
Japan's depopulation will accelerate in 2023 with continued boosting campaigns targeting the 30% of their population aged 65 and over. Falling births and escalating deaths will continue. Trouble!
I was inspired by Guy Gin’s excellent post to look further into Japan’s current health and population outcomes.
Japan has a population of about 125 Million, with around 30% aged 65 or older.
In 2022 Japanese deaths were double births. Deaths in 2022 increased by nearly 9% compared to 2021. There was also a 5.1% reduction in live births which dropped to under 800k in 2022, 11 years earlier than projected. https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Society/Deaths-jumped-8.9-in-Japan-in-2022-to-almost-double-birth-total
In terms of Covid-19 vaccines, Japan has been one of the most vigorously boosting nations in the world.
The OWID data shows that while Japan’s total vaccine doses jumped from 230/100 in July 2022 up to 307/100 by the beginning of February 2023, their booster uptake more than doubled from 64/100 to 139/100 persons in the same period.
I wondered what happened to Japanese deaths in the same period that their vaccination uptakes were increasing. This site tracks Japan Deaths: 2023 is not looking so great! Data will bear monitoring in coming months.
Somehow the excess deaths seem to mirror the periods of greatest increase in booster and doses uptake. Throughout the period from July 2022 to the beginning of February 2023, when booster doses doubled and overall uptake increased by 50% there were continuous excess deaths. Deaths have returned to within “normal ranges” once dosing flattened off.
Related? Causal? Almost certainly given international patterns. I borrow the ending concluding words from Guy Gin “sustainable vaccination ends when you do!”
Consider also that deaths should be below “normal ranges” to make up for the recent excess deaths; even normal ranges given lack of return to mean are actually abnormal. This shows in the chart provided, where in pre-pandemic years death spikes were always followed by death deficits as population mortality trended back towards the mean.
There has been no recovery to population means; the situation appears to be worsening.
I predict new waves of excess deaths with every new booster campaign. I predict continued and escalating excess deaths, particularly among the 80 million persons older than 65 now targeted for 2023 reboosting with 4th and soon 5th doses!
I have not yet found deaths breakdown by ages for Japan. Readers, if you can link me to this, please do so in the comments.
I predict a further new low for birth rates, despite increased new marriages in 2022.
Depopulation in full swing! May the world watch and learn! You are not far behind.
Thanks for referencing me! Here’s a Japanese article covering excess deaths by age group. TL:DR excess deaths are mainly among the over 70s. https://agora-web.jp/archives/230614024533.html
I'm guessing Japan will be first to adopt robots to replace their dying population.
