skilled migrants sought by Germany and Australia. Student PISA Ranking in bottom 10. Charter Change signatures being bought? All is well and good in the Philippines!
"tap the power of the collective in finding ways to solve political conflict.." Yes. Let's do that Bong Bong. Great idea.
Speaking of the gap in scores between students in the Philippines and those of other countries, wouldn't it have been nice if we had not locked children out of school for two years for no reason whatsoever? Just a thought.
Children were locked out of public schools from March 2020 through to November 2022. That is nearly 3 years of lost schooling. My 15 yo daughter, in grade 9, has 18 year old classmates who completely stopped all education during the pandemic. If this happens to students of well-off, higher socioeconomic class families, what more the students who were already struggling to stay in school due to poverty and other disadvantage! I suspect that many of the children who left education during the pandemic will never go back to education. They will likely be limited to manual labor jobs, unless the government could instigate an excellent adult education program, which would be a great idea, so long as it were not simply for brainwashing propaganda , and were really targeted to knowledge and skills building!
Tap the collective power to find solutions. The past 3+ years have been an exercise in completely avoiding collective inputs... complete suppression of anyone who did not follow the narrative. Would be nice if that were to change.... we all know how likely that would be!
I don't have any numbers on hesitancy due to dengvaxia. However, while Philippines has about 70% of the population took primary series; there was very very strong pressure for this. However only about 20% have taken any booster doses, far lower than many other nations. This points to very high hesitancy.
Cards were quite readily available. I am assuming that the costs were tiered based on to whom they were being sold. It was quite a business for a while! That will certainly muddy the waters of just how many people here were really jabbed. Some politicians have succumbed to sudden deaths, but no one high level yet. When CDCPH / Lunas Philippines teams were visiting senators and talking to staffers, it "appears" that all were jabbed. We were also told the same by the senators and congressmen we have spoken to. They were not allowed to access their offices without proof. We wait and see!
