Principled Men and Women with Love of Country are standing against SB1869. Report from activities on the ground on 25th February 2023, the 37th anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution.

Filipinos watching the introduction of SB1869 (HB6522) to the Senate last 17 February 2023 have risen up to protest the implications and conditions of this bill which will create a Philippines CDC that will be responsible for facilitating the handling of all future public health emergencies and to act as a National Focal Point for close coordination with the WHO, and all other countries’ national focal points. There are grave fears that this bill will encroach on the constitutional rights and liberties of Filipinos, set the Philippines up for endless cycles of declared public health emergencies with endless repeats of all of the brutal pandemic measures inflicted over the past 3 years, and compel subjugation to the WHO and its IHRs.

Concerned Civil society groups Covid Call to Humanity, Juan Dakila, Gising Maharlika, and the Concerned Doctors and Citizens of the Philippines held a joint protest and vigil against SB 1869 and HB6522 in front of the Philippines Senate in Manila last February 25, 2023. The protest was covered by mainstream media outlets Manila Bulletin and Abante News.

Gatherings were held across the nation. I am sharing images that I received from some of these events.
