Causes reported due to power supply issue, then power surge affecting equipment. 345 flights affected and nearly 60K passengers. Concerning vulnerability for airline industry operations revealed.
Looks like flight infrastructure is being targetted. This is the third big event globally this week I think, involving the IT infrastructure of airline companies.
The state of calamity hasn't been extended. I am looking for news on this, but nothing has been reported yet, except DOH moaning that it needs it extended and/or the new Philippines FDA bill to be passed. I will report on this as soon as I have more information / enough information to report.
I was telling people it is easy to blame the Manila Airport - who nobody really enjoys travelling through - when it was the systems under CAAP that went down. I personally know of relatives who were affected by it and had their flights rescheduled. Some had no available flight options until a few days after because it is a peak travel season.
As of 4 pm, 282 flights had been cancelled or diverted to other airports. Situation reported as being partially resolved.

WEF do want flying to be inaccessible to most of the world population.
I'll speak for the states, therein the culture of incompetence is ever widening and deepening.
This is the IT infrastructure of an entire country!
Primary issue related to power supply / power surge purportedly affecting equipment. https://www.cnnphilippines.com/news/2023/1/2/NAIA-airport-traffic-center-resumes.html?fb&utm_source=izooto&utm_medium=push_notifications&utm_campaign=ATMC%20resumes%20ops
Flying is pure hell, then you fly in the Philippines.
Off topic. Any word on the state of calamity being extended? No mention in the MSM.

Vergeire has her panties in a wad.
That is awesome! And it needs to progress from there to consequences for what she and her minions have done to the Filipino people!
