As of 4 pm, 282 flights had been cancelled or diverted to other airports. Situation reported as being partially resolved.

Looks like flight infrastructure is being targetted. This is the third big event globally this week I think, involving the IT infrastructure of airline companies.

The state of calamity hasn't been extended. I am looking for news on this, but nothing has been reported yet, except DOH moaning that it needs it extended and/or the new Philippines FDA bill to be passed. I will report on this as soon as I have more information / enough information to report.

I was telling people it is easy to blame the Manila Airport - who nobody really enjoys travelling through - when it was the systems under CAAP that went down. I personally know of relatives who were affected by it and had their flights rescheduled. Some had no available flight options until a few days after because it is a peak travel season.
