I would point to a most recent event, that being Ukraine, the US has sent more than 500,000 Ukrainians to their death because of the US has failed to uphold their agreement with Russia to not to expand NATO. The Philippines would be wise to not allow themselves to become another pond of the US against China, with the expansion of American bases in the Philippines is perhaps why some of the hostility from China. The Philippines would be wise to put some distance between them and Washington and also be very mindful of the CIA being involved in Filipino politics which most certainly lead to major problems for the Philippines. Don't allow the CIA attempts to cause problems within your government or the Filipinos will pay a costly price like Ukrainians.

I agree with your assessment Super Sally. VVM is courting trouble with China. His millions & drugs are clouding his decisions.. He is putting Filipinos in harms way.

Are rogue western intelligence agencies, think LIMANG MATA, doing a zarzuela with their Chinese counterparts (there are Chinese black hats for sure) and "playing" with the Philippines in that shallow swimming pool, all to justify another theater for wasteful spending? Expert military analysts say both China and Taiwan do not want a war, they have too much of a good business relationship going on, in addition to familial ties, to be destroyed by the hegemonic agendas of foreign players. But they will not allow another episode like the century of "Humiliation" that ended in 1949 in which foreign powers subjected, manipulated, colonized, and occupied China to be repeated. To this China has adopted the "never again" mentality. So this could also be the context of their recent actions in the WPS vis-a-vis an obvious vassal of a faltering global hegemon. Wake up Philippines! Enough is enough!

Bong Bong Junior's tough guy talk isn't helping anything other than his short term ego gratification.

Yikes, referencing current conflicts involving the hegemonic USA, I can only too easily see how the Philippines could be manipulated into a position of conflict with China. We are far enough away from US shores to ensure the Americans won't be directly affected (at first anyway) and that is how they like their wars. China needs to back off that's true but threatening them with military force seems plain silly. Are there alternatives, such as trade sanctions, POGO, and import restrictions?

I never forget The U.S. installed Commie Corazón Aquino and sparked the EDSA I. Marcos Sr. was betrayed by Regan and the U.S. The U.S. destabilized my country sending into political chaos and economic crisis. The Philippines is still reeling from U.S. meddling. I bet the CCP, the Abusaf and theMNLF are tools to destabilize my country. I hope my countrymen wake up.
