I was raised in Melbourne. As a student in the 60's and 70's the temperature often topped 40C. I don't remember being sent home, but I do believe that in more recent times a limit has been set, at which students are sent home to probably hot houses. I used to work at a paint making factory in the mid-80's, which itself generated heat. I recall they shut production if it got over 38, I think. So hot days in Melbourne are not new.

The media has been issuing alarming reports that climate change believers fall for but when you look at actual and historical temperatures as you have there is nothing special going on. To be sure more trees and greenery are needed but this is just another manufactured crisis.
