Since the China mainland statistics office clearly seems determined to never release its numbers, these Macau numbers provide a nice official confirmation of the estimates of death numbers we came up with in January 2023. There were no mRNA injections on the mainland, and yet the spike in death numbers was similar. So crediting the mRNA shots seems an improbable explanation.
The far simpler explanation is also the obvious one: the deaths were due to Covid-19. Yes, yes, we know this is hard for most Westerners to accept, since both the Western approach to dealing with Covid-19 and the Western experience were so completely different from what happened in China, but for those who wish to know, the information is out there.
